If you are snorkeling for the very first time, don’t be in a rush to swim away from the boat. The buoyancy of the ocean water makes learning how to snorkel quite easy. All you have to do is dip your face in the water and simply hover. Once your eyes are accustomed to the water and your breath is regulated, you can gently move your legs to propel forward. Remember to breathe evenly and enjoy the beauty that is all around you. Expect that you will see many fish swimming underneath your body, and that you may see larger fish from time to time. In the Turks and Caicos waters you will sometimes see turtles, barracuda, and even a dolphin. As you feel more comfortable you can begin to explore a wider area, always keeping your awareness on your snorkel buddy and on the location of the boat. If you have an underwater camera, capture a selfie of your snorkeling adventure!
